The geometry of milling cutters specially designed for wood is characterized above all by the very steeply angled spiral groove. At 15°, there are hardly any tensile forces that tear the material upwards when cutting. This avoids frayed edges. On the other hand, the spiral is still sufficient to transport chips out of the groove and keep the milling channel clear.
