3 flute foam cutters | 1301SM 

The cutting edge geometry of this tool is optimised for machining foam without fringing its vertical edges. The cutter’s tip is ground in a way that always smooth surfaces are achieved when you mill pockets. An especially steep spiral flute with 10° enables an efficient clearance of chippings, also if deep slots are milled at high feed rates.

Fields of application:
Specially suitable for machining foams of polyethylene (PE) and polyurethane (PUR). Ideal for milling insertions for suitcases etc.

Practical tip:

Set a fill overlapping of at least 25 % for your milling works. If foam residues should remain on the cutting edge, we recommend to use a cleaner on acetone basis or to clean the tool in an ultrasonic bath.
 

Speed and feed:

Foam allows high feeds at maximum speed, even with larger diameters.
Guide values at Ø 6 mm:
24,000 rpm and 6 ... 8 m / min.
